Invitation to PEG Meeting + Parent Social and Film Screening

Please note that the Parent Engagement Group (PEG) meeting previously scheduled for this Wednesday, Feb. 22 has been moved. Please join us on Monday, Feb. 27 in the Upper Humanities room. This will be a short meeting, lasting from 6:00-6:45 PM. The meeting will be followed by a parent social and film screening (details below).

This marks a shift in PEG's meeting schedule. To better accommodate parent schedules, PEG will no longer meet on Wednesdays coinciding with school board meetings. Instead, meetings will be held on the second Monday of each month beginning in March.

If you've never been to a PEG meeting, now is a great time to get involved! On Feb. 27 the "business meeting" will take place from 6:00-6:45 PM in the Upper Humanities room. At 6:45 we'll move to the Multi-Purpose Space for a brief parent social. Snacks and refreshments will be served. This will be a time to meet PEG members and hear more about how to get involved.

The screening of Miss Representation will begin at 7:00 PM and will be followed by a discussion.

More about the film Miss Representation:
The media is selling the idea that girls’ and women’s value lies in their youth, beauty, and sexuality and not in their capacity as leaders. Boys learn that their success is tied to dominance, power, and aggression. We must value people as whole human beings, not gendered stereotypes. See more at the film's website. This event is sponsored by PEG's ParenTeen Transitions committee.

ALL are welcome for the PEG meeting at 6:00, parent social at 6:45 and film at 7:00! See you Monday!
