Message for Juniors & Families Regarding PSAT Scores

A message from Dean of Students Matt McElrath:

All juniors should just have received electronic notification of their PSAT results.  If you did not, it is likely because the email section of the test was not completed.

(If you did not receive your scores, I will be receiving paper copies in the coming weeks and can distribute them to you.)

In the past, I’ve worked with students during one-on-one meetings to debrief and analyze the PSAT results and talk about next steps.

For most juniors, the next step is to begin preparations for ACT and SAT testing.  Although Great River will be offering all juniors a fully paid opportunity to take the ACT in April, many families begin taking the ACT and SAT tests in January to ensure they are able to pursue their target scores in relation to the schools they are interested in applying to – this often means taking one or both tests 2-4 times before November of their senior year.

Visit the ACT and SAT websites to create an account and sign up for a test.  This can take up to an hour and should be done at least a month before test dates.
