We are excited to announce a new system to facilitate better communication in our community. Alert Solutions is a communications system integrated with Powerschool that can send:
- Emails,
- Recorded voice messages by phone,
- Text messages.
Voice message and text message functions will be used to communicate with families on:
- Urgent notifications (weather closings, bus/transport notifications, key experiences, emergencies),
- Reminders about important school events (conferences, level-specific reminders, etc.).
Email function will be used to send email messages on:
- Newsletters,
- Activities (robotics, athletics, etc.),
- Email directed to levels or classrooms.
For parents, this will look very much the same as emails you’ve received from the school in the past, but will allow us to manage it easier internally. Parents are welcome to email individual staff members directly.
Next week, we will send out a test message to all families by email, text message, and phone call. We will be using the phone numbers from the family directory. The text will come from the number 956-64. You should add this number your contacts as GRS Alerts - so that when you know future alerts are from us. You will not be able to respond to these texts.
