Our travels bring bus 2 to Bear Butte. Students hiked this sacred site with reverence and awe, reveling in the beauty and the power of the mountain. For some the climb posed a challenge never before encountered, whether it was seeing the flat horizon for the first time, climbing a mountain, or ascending to the top in record time.
Students are engaged in their odyssey books, immersing themselves in the geology and history of this land. While at Bear Butte, an American Indian elder spoke with us telling of traditions, stories and speaking his indigenous language.
Arriving at Devils Tower brought us a beautiful sight! This Sunday September morning we set out on a hike of Devils Tower and head to Wind Cave for our Bus 1 & 2 group rendezvous tonight! (Sunday night!)
