ACT Testing on April 19th

Good morning 11th year families. This is just a reminder that ACT testing will be happening at school on Tuesday, April 19th.   Students should come rested, fed, with high protein snacks and a working calculator. Please note that this is paid for by the school & requires no registration on your part. However if you would like your student to take the ACT more than once or they are not able to test on the 19th please register www.act.org Great River supplies fee waiver for all families that qualify for free & reduced lunch.

Wondering how to best prepare for ACT?   US News offers some great advice http://www.usnews.com/education/best-colleges/test-prep/articles/2010/05/21/test-prep-6-tips-for-act-success?page=2 and a list of the best ACT Prep books can be found here http://blog.prepscholar.com/best-act-prep-books    The libraries also offer free resources and free practice test of the ACT so please check in with your local branch to see what is available.

I will be making the transition with your student as their college coach for their senior year.  Please set up times as a family to come in during the school day or direct your student to meet with me during independent work time.  I will be setting up the College Information Night in May and look forward to meeting you all then. Let me know if you have any additional questions and I look forward to beginning this journey together.
