iRace is a day in which we discuss and explore issues of race and social justice.
What we need from families:
- Bring a shareable meal from your household or culture for the potluck lunch. Please label ingredients for allergy purposes.

iRace Potluck: March 30 - Bring a Dish to Share from Household or Culture
What iRace is all about:
Our mission is to raise the level of awareness of race issues within St. Paul and in our school specifically. The iRace Summit is a one-day event held each year where we welcome speakers and hold workshops to address issues of race and culture identity. We believe that we will not be able to end racial discrimination unless we can comfortably talk about race. This year's focus is “Roots, Unity, and Intersectionality.” We want to raise awareness about topics and issues related to race, racism, gender, or economic inequality and lower the apathy we have towards those issues as a community.
The Potluck:
To further raise awareness and knowledge, we will have a potluck that will provide types of food from different households and cultures. Our goal is to to encourage students to step out of their comfort zone and try food from other cultures that could potentially change their perspective towards racism. To achieve this goal we are asking parents and students to contribute to the cause and bring an important or favorite dish from their household or culture.
