Widji Day 1:We were happy to see coaches when we arrived at GRS in the morning! They are so much more comfortable than the school busses! We had a quick 30 minute rest stop to have a snack, but were anxious to make it to Widji. We arrived to a beautiful day!
We had a great lunch and then everyone had an orientation tour / hike of the area. There was some free play time before dinner, then children gathered in their study groups to go on a night hike! Children learned about predators who hunt by night, how we see at night, and triboluminescence and Life-Savers candies (go look it up). We were back in our cabins by 9:30, snuggled into sleeping bags, and listened to chaperons reading stories to help put everyone to sleep. It was a great day!
