Hello all,
We just finished a fascinating and pertinent tour of the Motor City...Detroit, MI!
We learned about the local & state laws that prevent Detroit from economic prosper, the varying ethnic groups whom have immigrated there and remain, and oodles of interesting historical facts.
We also got to stand on the edge of the Detroit River and look across to Canada...a very cool experience. During we toured the Heidelberg Project, the community art project created in response to the poor racial & economic conditions in Detroit. Students engaged in a great discussion of how art can affect social change which can lead to policy change and better life conditions. A fascinating experience.
We are heading back west now....arriving in Indiana for our sunset tour and camp at Indiana State Dunes.
Tomorrow we reunite with stories to share and clothes to wash;)
