Reminder: Newcomers and Neighbors Night!

Hello Great River Families -

 

As a reminder, the Parent Engagement Group (PEG) is up and running with parents from all levels who have volunteered to participate and represent our staff, students, and families. We hope to get to know as many of you as possible over the next year.

 

Our first sponsored event will be a Newcomers and Neighbors Night. This will be a summer evening to get together as families to catch up with each other and welcome our incoming families. 

 

This event will provide the opportunity to:

• Connect with experienced GRS families
• Get your questions about GRS answered
• Get introduced to other families
• Meet families who live near you (we will be distinguishing families by location)
• Have your children make connections with students who live near you.
• Find someone with whom you can carpool

What: Newcomers & Neighbors Night

When: July 29 6:30-8:30 PM (rain or shine; there is a pavilion

Where: Newell Park (on Fairview between Hewitt and Pierce Butler)

Schedule: 

6:30-7:00 Gathering, socializing, making s'mores, fun

7:00-7:15 Welcome from Katie Ibes and Nina Johnson

7:15-8:00 Divide into Level groups for conversation

8:00-8:30 Neighborhood groups

 

Join us after your dinner. The PEG is providing s'mores and water to drink. Please bring your own roasting sticks.
